In this full conversion mod, all characters in the classic first-person shooter GoldenEye 007 are replaced with those from the Super Mario franchise. It even updates the dialogue to reflect the change in characters.

Meet Agent Mario

GoldenEye With Mario Characters Mod is based on the 1997 FPS GoldenEye 007, which itself was a video game adaptation of the action movie of the same name. In another escapade of the master spy, you have to stop the GoldenEye satellite from causing irreversible damage. This high-octane premise is made a bit lighter with the use of Super Mario characters.

Design-wise, the characters are modeled using techniques that are authentic to Nintendo 64 games: 3D low-poly models. Some dialogues are also modified to fit the change in characters. There are even character lines added to make interactions more fun. As expected Bowser replaces Trevelyan, but a surprising addition is the modification of certain levels, such as a version of Mushroom Castle.

The main restriction in this mod, however, is the need to use an emulator. Since it is not a standalone file, you will need to move it into an actual Nintendo 64 or use apps like 1964. Additionally, the custom models tend to get stuck on corners and alleyways, showing how the in-game physics could use more work. Other than that, this physics issue offers unexpected laughter to players.

A comical James Bond experience

While James Bond was never tied to comedy and lightheartedness, GoldenEye With Mario Characters Mod offers a refreshing experience.
